WSC Beijing Global Rounds, 2019

Scholars from Grade 9 represent Bangladesh for the first time at WSC Beijing Global Rounds, 2019

Akil Rafid, Aoveek Hossain and Shabkaad Ahmed from Grade 9 D participated in the World Scholar’s Cup Beijing Global Round 2019. This was one of the Second Rounds of the World Scholar’s Cup after the Regional Round in February. The event was held from 21st June to the 25th of June at China National Convention Center, Beijing. The students enjoyed various social events such as the Scholar’s Scavenger Challenge and the Scholars Show. Other than these, they had competed with 38 other countries in the Scholars Challenge, Bowl, Debate and Collaborative Writing. The team also had a stall in the Cultural fair where different nations expressed their diversity and culture through the exhibition of a plethora of colourful stalls.
Apart from learning about an array of topics in the six subjects of the curriculum, the students had an exhilarating experience meeting new people from around the globe and competing with them as well as and expressing their various talents in front of about 2000 scholars in the Scholar’s Show (Talent Show).
Their performance awarded them a total of 9 medals of which 3 were gold and 6 were silver. Finally, they have qualified for the Tournament of Champions, which is the Final Round of the worldwide programme. It will be held on November at Yale University, USA.
